Crown royal noble collection 2020
Please enjoy this review of this lovely sipping whisky. Lovely notes of butterscotch and vanilla have merged with almond notes bringing about an impression of marzipan and underneath all of this are impressions of raisins and apricot.I should mention the baking spices which appear alongside the oak. I sense impressions of maple topped graham wafers and hints of chocolate riding alongside.
“… a firm oak and rye aroma with both the spicy accents oak sap and rye grain on full display. Here is a link to the full review: Review: Crown Royal Noble Collection – Rye Aged 16 Years This is a blend of Crown Royal Rye Whiskies all of which have been aged for no less than16 years. The Crown Royal Rye Aged 16 Years is part of the Noble Collection and showcases Crown Royal’s rye whisky. The Collection showcases Crown Royal whiskies with new flavour profiles by blending different components of the various whiskies that go into the Crown Royal blend and/or using different finishing techniques in maturing the company’s flagship whisky. The Crown Royal Noble Collection is a series of whiskies that have been released on an annual basis since 2016. The distillery and the brand are owned by the spirits conglomerate, Diageo, and I think it is fair to say that Crown Royal is Diageo’s flagship Canadian Whisky brand. This is a fruity rye for sure, more dried fruits, not too sweet and thicker than normal Crown Royal.Crown Royal Canadian Whisky is currently produced in Gimli, Manitoba, at the Crown Royal Distillery. The subtle heat lingers just long enough, before creating a warm, peppery cocoon in my belly. I got anise and that same sweet vanilla from the aroma. Palate: This has a very smooth, bold rye taste. Nose: Stone fruit, mainly plum, and Madagascar vanilla bean. $70/750ml.Īppearance: Grade A pure maple syrup with thick legs and high viscosity. Aged 16 years in charred American white oak barrels. What I love most about this release is the gorgeous bottle and label it boasts. The rye is mellow and clear, falling into the more traditional rye flavors that avoid heavy sugary notes. Crown Royal 13-year-old Noble Collection: 13: 45.0 Vol. However, Crown Royal Rye Whisky Aged 16 Years hit different than the traditional whisky. In general, I seldom prefer Crown Royal over other brands due to the sweetness factor.
The process allows the blenders to experiment with unique flavors and methods. The Noble Collection is an annual release that’s designed to highlight the “various techniques and styles” of their master blenders. Through bottling components of Crown Royal’s distinct blends and playing with finishing techniques, the Noble Collection has become an award-winning success. As a result, there is maturity to this iteration of Crown Royal that I can’t say is inherent to the brand.Īs the world’s biggest-selling Canadian whisky brand, the distillery, located in Gimli, Manitoba, has been emboldened over the years to explore special releases and flavored whiskies.Ĭrown Royal’s Noble Collection is a welcome series that pushes the boundaries of flavor exploration. This rare stock of Canadian rye is crafted from 90% rye mash whisky and aged in charred American white oak barrels for no less than 16 years. Towards the end of 2020 Crown Royal released the fifth whisky in their Noble Collection with their Rye Whisky Aged 16 Years. It may not hold gold, but that purple bag is known to whisky drinkers to carry a sweet, Canadian whisky that really kicks a party into high gear. We didn’t know what it represented, but always enjoyed pretending that the bag held gold stolen by Robin Hood. Most of my friends had the same bag to put their toys in. I remember storing my marbles in a velvety purple bag when I was a kid.
